Based on a yearlong study of nearly 2,000 individuals dealing with obesity or being overweight, the volunteers participated in an intensive weight loss program.

When the study was over, researchers found that the participants who reported not sleeping for the same number of hours every night didn’t lose as much weight after a year than the ones that managed to follow a regular sleep pattern. Furthermore, people who slept fewer than six hours each night experienced less of a reduction in waist circumference than those who slept at least seven hours or more.
