Some of these chronic conditions may also make a person more susceptible to contracting coronavirus.
Growing research further indicates that sleep deprivation impairs the capacity of a human to battle a disease once he or she is sick. In a variety of studies, higher rates of respiratory infections, head colds, and associated illnesses were reported by people with sleep disturbances, people who get less than five to six hours of sleep each night, and people with poor sleep quality levels (the proportion of time spent sleeping during the night).
